Congusto for schools

FOTO-SCUOLE-CONTENUTIGiven the increasing importance of food education in today's society, Congusto staff proposes to the nursery, primary and middle schools of Lombardy and Sicily, an interesting educational program that combines assured educational purposes and original entertainment opportunities for preschool and school age children.
A program for the acquisition of good nutrition behaviours but also to increase the curiosity of young people towards food traditions of their own areas but also of other regions and nations. A chance to develop the relational skills of the students, encouraging the socialization and promoting the assumption of conscious and motivated responsibility in them. The project will involve internal and external resources to the school. As internal resource will be involved at least one accompanying teacher, who will support the activity of the management of the student body, as an external resource there will be a Congusto chef.

 

THE FIVE SENSES OF THE KITCHEN. SENSORY AND TASTE EDUCATION LABORATORIES
A course designed to develop and tickle the five senses in a creative way, through the culinary experience: because the taste can be not only savoured but you can watch it, you can listen to it, you can smell it and touch it, too. A lot of culinary games in the name of an educational fun that allows our young guests to learn to identify the quality of food through the use of all the senses. Among our game proposals:

  • Guess the ingredient
  • Eat … with your hands
  • Exploration of the taste by tip of nose

 

GEOGRAPHY IN THE KITCHEN

Because cooking is one of the most visible expression of the culture of a people, there is nothing better than a geography and nationally and internationally culture lesson gathered around the cooker to taste the dishes of different regional traditions and of the most different cultures and discover customs, ingredients and eating habits from all around the world.
An original lesson, a valuable support to the integration strategies, more and more useful in a multi-ethnic civilization like ours.


THE SEASONS OF THE TASTE
Accustomed to find all types of vegetables and fruit in any month of the year, the kids are often prey to a growing confusion about what the seasons really produce. Under the guidance of a Congusto chef, students can have fun preparing and tasting homemade jams and preserves made with seasonal products, but only after having defied each other in a fun team competition to give the 4 seasons its typical fruits. A course that aims to recover in the young generations the principles of tradition, of healthy nutrition, of the periodicity of the products and of the local context to enhance the fundamentals of the Mediterranean diet and rebuild the bond between the products of the agriculture and the food consumed each day.


A SNACK IN COMPANY

The snack: a meal which has been too often undervalued, but which is fundamental especially while children are growing up. An indispensable break to charge your batteries and to avoid arriving hungry at dinner time. An educational course to teach children the tricks and the ingredients for a healthy, light and nutrient snack to be consumed preferably in company and with the tv off. Because if Mom and Dad do not have time to devote to the preparation of a balanced snack, nothing forbids that children can do for themselves!
A lesson that, through fun and games tied to the practical experience of cooking together, awakens children's attention on the nutritional value of food, leading them to weigh the quality of the ingested food.
The programs of the courses can be arranged with the institutions concerned and tailored to the needs of teachers and students.
